Anastasija worked in private Moscow studios for four years. She graduated from Moscow University for the Humanities in pop and jazz vocals and also plays the violin.
She values a friendly, productive atmosphere. Her teaching explains vocal technique through both visual imagination and a clear understanding of human physiology.
The teacher answers five FASOUL questions about their path, inspiration and view of music.
She fell in love with music at three, when she began repeating every song she had heard.
She started vocal lessons at five. At nine, despite her musician mother’s concern about the high demands of music school, she enrolled in violin and vocal classes and promised to graduate with honours.
Her mother’s love of classical music and her father’s love of rock both shaped her taste. She gravitates to jazz, emotionally charged 1990s and 2000s pop, contemporary ballads and music blending R&B, soul, jazz and rock.
Her next goal is postgraduate study and an even deeper understanding of the voice.
Singing, like any craft, can be learned. Love of music is already the foundation; a teacher can help develop the technique, discipline and confidence that follow.
