Book with this teacher
Martynas has played guitar for ten years.
He is eager to play, create and share what he knows. In his view, a music teacher should do more than teach technique: a lesson should also be enjoyable and help the student feel music deeply.
The teacher answers five FASOUL questions about their path, inspiration and view of music.
In fifth grade he joined a folk ensemble and saw the teacher playing guitar. That moment showed him that music could be more than entertainment and that the right example can inspire a goal. He now tries to offer the same encouragement to every student.
At first, his parents did not expect the new hobby to last, though they were glad he had found it. Once they saw his commitment and desire to make music a profession, they strongly supported his decision to study music production at Vytautas Magnus University.
He began with acoustic guitar, later discovered rock, and spent four years playing styles from alternative rock to shoegaze with the band Imbieras. Today he mostly listens to and plays rock, pop and acoustic ballads.
He cannot imagine life without music. Recording-studio work and production interest him, while a future in teaching or another form of music education also appeals.
He encourages everyone to try music: even if it does not become a calling, it can be a valuable experience and reveal unexpected qualities. Every new attempt helps a person grow.
