I am curious and open to playing methods and techniques I have not yet tried. I value not only what I can teach another person but also what I can learn from that process myself.
Five stories about music
The teacher answers five FASOUL questions about their path, inspiration and view of music.
How and when did you realise that music was your path?
While still in primary school, I heard bands such as Dead Can Dance, The Beatles and Tame Impala for the first time and felt a sense of elation I had never experienced before. I wanted to learn to create and sound like those artists. After learning to play a few similar songs, I realised I was capable of pursuing much deeper knowledge.
Did the people close to you support your choice?
Because my father is a musician himself, he strongly supported me and encouraged me both to create my own music and to attend music school. He was my first and most important inspiration for connecting my life with music. The hardest part is finding time and balancing work with studies, so whenever I have a free moment, I immerse myself in creating and playing.
Which musical genres do you prefer?
Rock.
How do you imagine your future in music?
I see myself sharing both my present and future musical knowledge with people who also want to become musicians. I hope to learn how to run my own recording studio, give unknown talent an opportunity to be heard and one day write music for films. My future will always be connected with music, so learning will continue throughout my life.
What would you tell someone who is still unsure about trying music?
I think the most important thing is to know what you genuinely enjoy and to be honest when choosing your priorities. Do not abandon everything as soon as something goes wrong; a little patience and consistency are needed. The desire to learn should come first.
