The teacher answers five FASOUL questions about their path, inspiration and view of music.
01How and when did you realise that music was your path?
Music has fascinated me since childhood. My mother still remembers me sitting spellbound at my grandmother’s piano when I was five. I truly understood that I wanted to connect my life with music as a teenager, when my school ensemble let me experience it in a much freer, non-academic way and helped me fall in love with it all over again.
02Did the people close to you support your choice?
I grew up in a family of musicians, so my parents were happy with the path I chose and helped me follow it. These days, opportunities to perform with my family still arise, and it is wonderful to give something back to them.
03Which musical genres do you prefer?
I am especially drawn to pop, soul, R&B and folk, although I also love jazz, funk and hip-hop.
04How do you imagine your future in music?
I see myself becoming a successful performer and songwriter. I want to learn more about songwriting and keep discovering new sounds and forms of expression.
05What would you tell someone who is still unsure about trying music?
Do not dismiss yourself as someone who cannot make music. I sincerely believe that everyone can find enjoyment in it, regardless of experience or skill level. You only need to take the first step.
