Paulius has played acoustic, electric and bass guitar for around twenty years and also plays some drums. He was the lead guitarist in the Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute band Rabit Hole and in the band Radio Masažas.
He is open, upbeat and always happy to talk about music and everything connected with it.
The teacher answers five FASOUL questions about their path, inspiration and view of music.
A guitar was always present at home, and his father taught him his first song at five or six. After a period of experimenting with electronic-music software, he rediscovered guitar at fourteen or fifteen through the KISS video Crazy Crazy Nights and has not put it down since.
His parents were pleased that he played and encouraged music school, though its traditional approach did not suit him. They supported making music but were less certain about a professional career.
His listening stretches from Lithuanian pop and German schlager to Slipknot and experimental jazz. Funk, rock and Britpop remain his main preferences.
He wants to learn more instruments, write, record and arrange songs, and help other musicians reveal what makes them unique. He also imagines a community where music lovers can play—or simply meet and exchange ideas.
The first step is simply to try and find enjoyment in the process. Music develops patience, creativity and self-expression, so mistakes should become invitations to experiment and discover a personal style.
