The teacher answers five FASOUL questions about their path, inspiration and view of music.
01How and when did you realise that music was your path?
It is quite a funny story. I was about six and completely infatuated with a boy my age—so much so that I cannot even remember his name now. I decided that perhaps he would like me if I sang. That is how it began: music gradually and very naturally became more important than boys, and I have now spent most of my life with it.
02Did the people close to you support your choice?
I grew up in a family where music was not a priority and was seen more as a pleasant hobby. The people close to me had never had the opportunity to know it so intimately, so when they saw me diving deeper into its mysterious world, their love for me made them doubt and even fear my choice for a long time. Today, however, I feel that they increasingly recognise what I live and breathe.
03Which musical genres do you prefer?
Singer-songwriter music and pop are the two genres closest to my heart and my inner child.
04How do you imagine your future in music?
Some wishes prefer to remain quiet, but I believe that music will help me reach more and more people’s hearts. I want to learn everything, from playing drums to uncovering the secrets of the musical world.
05What would you tell someone who is still unsure about trying music?
Sometimes we avoid things because we are afraid to leave our comfort zone or worry about what other people will think. Fear and nervousness are entirely normal, especially when stepping into unexplored waters. If your heart says, ‘I want to try,’ it is worth doing even when it feels frightening. Challenges should not be feared or avoided; they should be met face to face. New experiences help us grow, whatever they may be.
